Finally Finished

By on Sep 19, 2016

Finally finished this one. Too bad the picture is so lousy. All in all it didn’t turn out too bad. Just have to figure out what to draw next. I’ve been so busy with work it is hard to find the time to do anything especially draw. It could be worse though. I’m getting some overtime which is nice and just having a job is always a good thing. It is easy to complain when things are going well and you loose sight of how things could be.I have to admit I’ve been neglecting my friends. I have been focusing on family. It seems like things are working out too. The girls wanted to color and play with Play Doh this weekend so I was able to finish this drawing while enjoying my coffee. All-in-all it was a pretty good weekend. I didn’t work as much as I should have, which is probably why my weekend was so good. We went apple picking on Saturday and on Sunday we...

Speaking of Vagaries

By on Sep 13, 2016

Have you ever been involved in something where you were misled into believing one thing while secret machinations were at play behind the scenes? I have been involved in a group that honestly I wanted nothing to do with. I was persuaded and given assurances that the group’s goals were indeed true and that my fears were unfounded. Over a period of time I reluctantly joined the group and while working toward the goal I found that my fears were indeed unfounded. My opinions and input were appreciated and I began to actually care about the goals and even become excited. Then I started noticing people using guarded language. Vague pronouns and reference to work that I thought was under my purview. Suddenly, the rug has been pulled out from under me.I feel betrayed. And it is early in the morning so I’ve got to sit with this all day. Just sit here in my disappointment and anger. It has...

Pokémon GO! The Adventure Continues…

By on Sep 7, 2016

I have been playing this game for a while now. I haven’t really thought about it until right now. It seems like the game has only been out for a short time, but it has actually been a few months. I’ve heard there is a certain level of fatigue but I am still enjoying playing. So last week I was SO excited to go play after work on Friday. Work has been a bit stressful lately. I have been developing a new website and there has been a lot of pressure to get it done as quickly as possible. So I was able to leave work before noon due to an abundance of hours put in on the new website. I had my money, my new battery backup, my change of clothes…and I had a cold. A lousy head cold. Due to the long hours and visiting visitors, my sleep was lacking and a cold took up residence in my skull.Alas, I was not going to give up. I stopped by the local store on the way to the Zoo and...

Old Sketchbooks

I was doing a little cleaning and reorganizing this weekend and I found a pile of old sketchbooks. You gotta love blind contours. You can tell it is old because I still had hair.Milwaukee’s Best Printer

NERD ALERT!!!

By on Aug 30, 2016

NERD ALERT! Is that still a thing? I remember growing up, being a nerd was the worst thing ever. At the time older people would say, “Look around, all those “nerds” will be the people you are working for.”Well I wouldn’t say that exactly, but it is funny how popular things like Pokémon GO have gotten. The rise of comic book movies is another example. Speaking of geeking out and Pokémon GO… I am so looking forward to Friday. School starts soon so my hours at work get condensed. I start later and end at the same time. In the summer I can start earlier so I get off early on Fridays. The last couple weeks I had visitors at the house so I was going home to spend time with them. Now I have my last Friday to myself.I am going to the zoo. The Milwaukee Zoo is one of the best places to POGO in Milwaukee. I just got my hair cut, so I’m looking nice. I...

A Quick Note About Politics…

By on Aug 26, 2016

I am really close to quitting the internet. Not really but I am really sick of politics. It seems like things are getting more vile everyday so I want to make a pledge to anyone who reads this blog. I will not get political. I will not post links or comment on political things, especially things that are meant to outrage people. This is my little corner of the internet so I want to keep it politic free. Now this is where I will back-pedal. Everything is being politicized so even a mundane thing can be interpreted with more meaning than intended. I also acknowledge that my life is different than yours so what might seem innocuous to me might be offensive to you. I am sorry. If I write something that is offensive please let me know. I am open to dialog. A good dialog might help me understand and change my behaviors. Just know that my ignorance is not hateful.OK?Milwaukee Printshop

Does it hold up? …And Justice for All

By on Aug 25, 2016

I’ve mentioned I am a runner. After a couple years my runs have gotten longer and while I have a playlist that I use for my fast run days, I have been listening to old albums that either I missed or that I used to love. Some of them hold up others do not.I have always loved music. My older cousin would make me mixed tapes of music, “I had to hear,” and when I visited him we would sit in his backyard with a boombox late at night trying to dial in New York radio stations so we could hear new hip hop music. I moved around quite a bit so friends came and went but my love of music was always strong. My middle school years were spent listing to metal. When I first heard Kill ‘Em All I was instantly hooked by the opening riff of “Jump in the Fire.” …And Justice for All was one of the first new releases I looked forward to. I bought the cassette the day it came out. I think I wore that...
