Necklaces…

By on May 10, 2017

My oldest daughter has been doing little sculptures using Sculpey. I could tell she was losing interest because she was running out of ideas. She was making food with faces kind of like Num Noms. After making several dozen she would get out her sculpture stuff and just sit at the table not really making anything. So I suggested making jewelry. I mentioned in previous posts that we are currently on a Moana kick, so she decided to make Heart of Te Fiti necklaces. Small aside, I just looked up how to spell Te Fiti and up until this very second we all thought it was “Na Fiti.” Anyway, she made some Heart of Te Fiti charms and we baked them so she could make a few necklaces. She has been gifted many necklace and bracelet making kits so finding supplies was not a problem. She also went through her jewelry box finding old bracelets she could cannibalize.I took the...

Booze Post

I have established that I like beer. I mentioned last year that I gave in and tried some seasonal pumpkin beers. That didn’t turn out too bad. There were a few that were, to quote “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” “quite atrocious,” but most weren’t too bad.Now that a new season is upon us, I’ve decided to start tasting the seasonals. I fell in love with a seasonal beer along time ago and had my heart broken. It was an Irish stout called Snake Chaser. I would look for it every St. Patrick’s Day and every year it would be in fewer and fewer stores. Now I own a pint glass for a beer that no longer exists. I’ve tried to find a replacement but none have filled that particular hole. Since then I tend to stick to things that are more reliable, but sometimes variety is nice. Now that the Spring seasonals are coming out I thought...

Origami Saturday – Princess and the Frog

By on Mar 27, 2017

“Lousy Smarch weather…” Homer J SimpsonSaturday was lousy. We try to keep busy. During the winter we often go to Milwaukee’s Public Museum. We get a membership so visiting doesn’t cost anything (at least at the time) and it allows the girls to run around while looking at things and being mentally stimulated. The only problem is our membership always seems to expire around the end of January. We usually don’t renew it until the following Fall because we also have a Zoo membership. We go to the Zoo all the time. Saturday was horrid. The temp was just above freezing and it was lightly raining or misting all day long. The zoo is great for just about any weather with the exception of that. So we took the kids to the mall. The girls like to eat at Red Robin so we often take them there for lunch, partake in an alcoholic beverage and then let the kids...

Random Kid’s Stuff Re-Revisited

I don’t know who this is for, when, where or why, basically any of the 4Q’s. It was just sitting on the table one morning.

Pokémon GO continues…

I went to visit some family this weekend. It was my nephew’s birthday so I took him Pokémoning. We went to a park in Neenah, WI. I was really looking forward to spending time with my nephew. He was the reason I started playing Pokémon in the first place. Honestly I’ve gotten a little burnt out on playing. The new buddy update was ok but all the spots are starting to seem the same. I haven’t added anything to my Pokédex in a while so aside from hatching eggs it has gotten a little mundane. Neenah was SO much different. It was so much fun. There were all kinds of new Pokémon. My nephew was in heaven. We were super cold sitting on the lake but other than that it was great. He had a smile on his face the whole time. The other thing that was great was seeing the diversity of people. There were all types of people. One picnic table of players looked like extras from The...
