Working on Sales and Stickers

  I started making that next step. Started a Facebook Store page. Starting small with just new stuff but I think I’m going to keep pushing forward. I secretly believe that this is really an exercise in futility but who knows. If nothing else it gives me something to work on. Speaking of… I finished up my inks. I think there will be some fine tuning after the color but I am pretty happy with how this is going. I tried something a little different and I’m happy with the results so far. A few podcasts I used to listen to went on hiatus for a few years but now they are all coming back. Normally I would be really excited to binge some podcasts and get some work done but both of my girls have suddenly become interested in art. I am not complaining. My youngest has the curse. Gastly Sketches

I really dislike the character design of the gastly but I like the idea behind it, if that makes sense. There is something about the way the eyes are just hanging off the edge that drives me crazy. It’s like they suddenly become 2 dimensional even though the rest of the eyes imply they are 3 dimensional, both sunken into the body while clearly pushing outward. I started doing some preliminary sketching which has slowly become the start to the next sticker/bookmark…     I have a couple concerns for this drawing though. First, it is stylistically different from the other drawings I have done. I think I will be able to color it in a way that ties it to the other pieces. Odds and Ends

  Got some odds and ends here. I have been doing some reorganizing or in some cases, finally organizing, and I ran across this…     This is a little metal model kit from Metal Earth. I put together a Millennium Falcon and it was difficult but alot of fun. This R2 was a pain in the butt. I started working on it over two years ago but gave up after several hours of work. Luckily I packaged everything up together so I still had the instructions and all the small pieces. Just for clarification, this model is about 2 1/2″ tall. I finally finished putting it together. I was once fascinated by these metal models but I think I’ve had my fill.   The other thing I decided to do was start listing some of the things I make for sale. Magikarp Stickers

  I am making up for my productive October by sitting around wasting time watching stupid videos on my phone. That’s not the only thing I’ve been doing, but close. I have been running again. Man, it is ugly. After not running for 6 months, and exchanging whiskey for exercise, the results have been less than stellar. Last night I had my first decent run which was only 3 miles and it wiped me out for the evening. Turns out carrying an extra 25 lbs can be really exhausting. It’s slowing coming back though. Last week I was barely pulling off 2 mile runs so I am making progress. Work has been bananas too. I am definitely not complaining about that. I love being busy at work. Sure it cuts into my personal projects, which is why the reapers haven’t gone out yet, but there is something to be said about job security. I haven’t been totally idle though…...

Reaper of Souls

  I finished! I had a bunch of issues come up while figuring out this buildable. The cloak’s hood was a nightmare. I think I went through 5 revisions just because of that. The machine I was using to cut them was causing all kinds of scratches to the final piece so I had to do a bunch of research and testing to get them just right. Once I had that all figured out I had to work on the packaging. Unfortunately they ended up a little bigger than I hoped but I am happy with the final product. They will not be going out before Halloween but they will be going out soon!
