One of my favorite things to do is stay up late and draw or paint. Now I like to listen to podcasts but back in the day the TV would be blaring in the background. It was interesting because I witnessed the birth of alot of things while staying up late drawing. I saw many things before they really took off: Comedy Central, or The Comedy Channel as it was called then, Mystery Science Theater 3000 and many early standup comedians. One thing I watched was the birth of The Cartoon Network. Mostly they played old Hanna Barbara cartoons but they had a few originals like: Cow and Chicken, Ed, Edd n Eddy and Dexter’s Laboratory. In 2001 a new show debuted on the Cartoon Network, Samurai Jack. There have been a few shows that I fell in love with before they even launched.     Finished everything up. Got some new pens so I blew through a crunked up logo. As a way of blowing off steam, I knocked this out really quick. Cleaned it up a little just so it would vectorize well and then made some stickers…     Didn’t want to put too much time into it, the whole point was to have it be a little, I don’t know, dirty or somethin’. Those turned out to be some really fine lines so I was limited in how small I could recreate them. I really had fun doing them. I wanted to do some drawing last night but the in-laws are in town and that just gets awkward.     Look at that edge… I like my drawings neat so this was a little bit of a challenge for me.   I’m really starting to get somewhere now. Man there are alot of triangles! A few other shapes too but mostly triangles. I keep going through bursts where I cover a bunch of ground in a few minutes only to follow it up with what feels like just spinning my wheels. I did spend a nice Saturday morning just sipping coffee and coloring.     I know what I’m going to draw next but for whatever reason I feel intimidated. Did I mention this before? It is a fairly simple drawing but I really want to get it right so I am a little worried about it. Seems weird to be worried about a drawing.
