Mmmmm…Summertime

By on Jul 10, 2017

Summer is here. Well, it has been here for a little while but Wisconsin decided to take its sweet time bringing in the warm weather. It’s here now and I just want to jump around like Steve Martin when the phone book arrives in The Jerk. We went up North for the Fourth of July but I couldn’t wait to start my holiday. My wife could not stop laughing when she got home from work. I was sitting outside with the most stereotypical Wisconsin snack of cheese curds and beer. I didn’t grow up in Wisconsin but I’m here now so I might as well act like it. This seemed like a good way to start our vacation so I carried the theme throughout. We were able to spend most of our time up north on the water. I probably, no I definitely, spent too much time in the sun. I had more than a couple beers floating in a giant donut tube. It was like living in Homer Simpson’s...

Marill Update – Ink

This little guy seems to be coming along nicely. I cleaned up all the pencil sketches after I took the picture so it is a little cleaner. I’m going to start coloring it tonight. I’m pretty happy the weather is finally starting to get nicer. I was able to get out for a nice 4 1/2 mile run last night. I ran the Pokémon Go app so I was able to hatch a few eggs. I hatched a Charmander and a Squirtle from a couple of 2K eggs and I hatched a couple of 10K eggs too. One held a Scyther (CP 1366) which was pretty cool but the other had a Pineco (CP 580). A Pineco out of a 10K? It only had 5 candy too. I suppose I shouldn’t complain too much after the Charmander and Squirtle but still.Milwaukee’s Best PrintshopOnline Printing

Does it hold up… Cypress Hill

By on Oct 4, 2016

I am having a problem writing this because I have switched my opinion while writing. I put this album on for a run the other day and I was really disappointed. The album has its bright spots but for the most part it really doesn’t hold up.Then I put it on this morning to make sure it was fresh in my mind as I wrote this and I found myself liking it a lot more than I did the other night. B-Real is pretty great. His voice is unique and his rhyme scheme is wonderful. He has a uniqueness that stands out. When you hear him rap, you know it is him. DJ Muggs has always been an enigma to me. He is a hype-man with no hype. I suppose it would be too much to be like Flava Flav when your whole niche is being stoned. He definitely adds something but sometimes I wonder if it is anything worth while…I started this post last week. I was conflicted. Like I said before, I listened to the album and came...

Does it hold up? …And Justice for All

By on Aug 25, 2016

I’ve mentioned I am a runner. After a couple years my runs have gotten longer and while I have a playlist that I use for my fast run days, I have been listening to old albums that either I missed or that I used to love. Some of them hold up others do not.I have always loved music. My older cousin would make me mixed tapes of music, “I had to hear,” and when I visited him we would sit in his backyard with a boombox late at night trying to dial in New York radio stations so we could hear new hip hop music. I moved around quite a bit so friends came and went but my love of music was always strong. My middle school years were spent listing to metal. When I first heard Kill ‘Em All I was instantly hooked by the opening riff of “Jump in the Fire.” …And Justice for All was one of the first new releases I looked forward to. I bought the cassette the day it came out. I think I wore that...
