Dumb Injuries

By on Aug 1, 2016

Have you ever hurt yourself in such a stupid way that you’d rather suffer in silence than have to tell others how you did it? I jacked up my knee pretty bad this weekend. Now I’m trying my best not to limp because last thing I want to do is tell others how I hurt myself. It is kind of a bummer because now I’ll be rehabbing it for at least a week. That is a week without being able to run. I’ll be taking some real long walks this week.Milwaukee Printer

Out and About

By on Jul 29, 2016

I’m on vacation this week. For one week every summer I try to take a week off and spend it with my oldest. We mostly daytrip. We do a wide variety of things. This year we went to a waterpark and then went to a Japanese restaurant. She was not on board for sushi but she loved the goyza and chicken tempura. We went to a couple art museums and had lunch alongside the river downtown. We hit the Milwaukee Public Museum and spent one day out at Old World Wisconsin. I will elaborate on some of our travels in the next few weeks but for now I just wanted to explain the lack of posts, assuming anyone has noticed or cares. What is great about these weeks together is that we both do things we haven’t necessarily done before but we also do things we do all the time. For example, we went to MPM. We have a pass so we go all the time. This time it was just her and I so we just kind of...

Work in Progress

By on Jul 22, 2016

I know a lot of people have been talking about it but I just finished the second episode of Stranger Things. Wow. I’ve been a little disappointed with the first couple episodes of Mr Robot, but Stranger Things has kept me distracted enough to not get discouraged. The show is distractingly good. I tried to do some drawing while I watched it but found I was watching more than drawing, which is always a good sign.Milwaukee Printer

Guess what they were doing on their field trip today. In my defense I both made her lunch and colored the bag in about 15 minutes. Here’s to procrastination!Milwaukee Printer

Helping Friends Move

By on Jul 18, 2016

Our friends and neighbors moved this weekend. It was disappointing to see them go. They are good people that we loved to spend time with. Their kids are almost the same age as ours and they lived right next door. So when they asked for help moving I was more than happy to lend a hand. As is usually the case when it comes to heavy stuff I lifted far more than I should have and when I put the box down I was seeing those little flashy squiggley things and felt a little light headed. Then I looked down at the box and panicked for a second. Remembering that my neighbors are native Russian speakers I was able to relax.Milwaukee’s Best Printer

My Pokémon GO Story

By on Jul 18, 2016

Yep, I’m playing Pokémon GO. It is neat. It is a way to connect to my nephews and pass a little time. I knew I was going to be spending some time with my nephews this weekend so I installed the app and took a walk to my neighborhood park which has two Poké-Stops. There were three kids sitting at a picnic table who immediately looked up and said, “We aren’t going to rob you.”I don’t want to sound disparaging but the kids looked like they would get winded just get up. I wasn’t worried. Anyway, one of the kids motioned with his hand to join them so I did. They had put a “lure” on the spots so they could attract more Pokémon and were not surprised to see other people arrive. I was the only person to walk up but several cars pulled up, idled a while and then drove away.We started to talk. The three kids were recent high-school graduates all...
