I love LEGOS. There is something satisfying about following the directions and assembling them. They are just above a mindless task. They are like a puzzle of sorts.
While shopping the other day I decided to extend my alone time, away from the chaos of home, by walking through the toy aisle before checking out. There, in the clearance section, was a Gundam model that was marked down to $3, so I thought I’d give it a go.
I know that these can become obsessive. I have a few friends that used to get together every week to assemble their Gundams and depending on the complexity they could take months to complete. This was a lower grade model so I figured I could get it done rather quick but speed wasn’t really the concern. I wanted something that would be easy like LEGOs.
I took my time, cleaning each piece after removing it from the sprue tree. All told, it took 2 nights to complete and I had alot of fun doing it. I’ve always liked building models but it’s something I just don’t pursue.
I’m definitely going to keep an eye out for these. If there are more on sale I am going to snatch them up. Maybe I’ll check out Michaels after work and see if they have any more traditional models I’d like to assemble.
