I’m going with drawing for this one. I suppose it could be considered some kind of relief sculpture but I like to think of it as a drawing. This goes way back to the first skateboard I ever wanted. My cousin took me to the skate shop and said, “Look at that…”
Mark “Gator” Rogowski. Now that guy’s trajectory is a tragic story for another time. Anyway, I’ve been drawing these spirals ever since. Yesterday the thought wormed its way up from the deep recesses of my mind and I decided to make a quick drawing. For a quick one-off, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.
I’m not sure which I like most, the monotone or duotone. Maybe I’ll work though this a little more and see where it goes. I like messing around with layers and this is really pushing that idea.
